Yes Pete, the one of Denali was especially striking. It almost made me feel like I was there and could somewhat comprehend the massive size of that mountain.

I have no idea what a mountain of that size looks like, honestly. I figure if you take our tall mountains (5000-6000 feet) and stack them on themselves three or four times, that would be it, and even then, our mountains are seen from 3000 feet, so they really only have a rise of a few thousand. I can't imagine being at nearly sea level and seeing a mountain the size of Denali, it really just blows my mind. Soon though, I'll be able to see it myself, and from an airplane taboot!

The mountain is pretty damned impressive Ship, expecially on those rare days when it's fully visable.

Denali is the largest mountain in the world.

It is not the tallest; its just the largest!

Denali AKA Mount McKinley has a vertical relief of 18,000 feet, greater than Mount Everest, when measured from the 2,000-foot lowlands at its base to its 20,320-foot summit. Everest’s vertical rise is about 12,000 feet. Denali rises about 18,000 feet (5,500 meters) from its base, which is a 2,000-foot-high (610-meter) plateau. This is a greater vertical rise than Mount Everest’s 12,000-foot (3,700-meter) rise from its base at
