It's very similar to being on the salt water in southcentral AK. But without the dead kelp smell and tides! The cormorants and other sea ducks really give it the look.

I took the class in Highschool and failed the FAA exam big time. It is a very hard test, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I took it just out of highschool. I passed the test but never did do any flight instruction. Was always too dang busy. Sweden wants to get hers so I may retake the course with her just for the heck of it. Then she can do the flight instruction locally in Sterling while I'm at work 2 weeks at a time.
