Picture taking is a whole other 'adventue' here on Admiralty Island. I find I'm missing a lot of great shots due to distance and lack of speed. Most mornings there are eagles flying over the tree covered hill my house sits next to, the channel in front of my house and the little bay behind the house. Great locations for great pictures and I'm missing most of them. I'm looking to upgrade but am a total novice. I'd like a camera with a decent zoom lens, detachable ok, 3 or more pics per second and one a 'dummy' can use. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

There have been some great buys on Craigslist. Search the photography section for Nikon D70.

Thanks Rance.

I only used Craigslist once to buy sports tickets. Someone selling tickets to the same event turned out to be selling the same tickets to several buyers. Can you get the same type of guarentee that you can get with eBay or by using PayPal?

I didn't look into payment options. You'd have to call and see what the seller says. I've never had any trouble with the folks in state and I've bought quite a bit over the last two years.

I went on Craigslist and eBay. Found this on eBay. What do you think? It comes with a one year warrenty which is appealing.

Not to step on Rance's toes...but I purchased the Grill God's camera through that company, Siouxcia, and they served me well - the only complaint I have is I bought the Canon XTi and all the peripherals that came with it didn't amount to much. The kit lens was a Canon lens, but the 'wide-angle' was a cheap brand that didn't do a thing for us, for an example.

I know nothing on the Tamron lenses...hopefully someone can chime in about those. Seeing as how that particular auction is just for lens and camera, as long as Tamron are comparable lenses, it sounds like a good deal.
