Depends on the direction. Lot's of light toward Prudhoe these days, and all around Kuparuk. Fortunately we are headed west toward Alpine so the light pollution will be much less for the next week.

Welcome Brandi! The Arctic Circle sign pic brings back some fond memories from 2 summers ago when the wife and I drove to Deadhorse.

Brandi! Welcome to the Alaska Section. Those are some big drifts inside that loo. I wonder if people still try to use them?

Thanks everyone!!! I have thousands of pics that I have taken over the years. It's really interesting how much I have seen and I have yet to see a quarter of the state! My family back south (ga/fl) are just amazed what we have here. Unfortunately I have never been successful in capturing the Northern Lights....

Shooting the lights is a challenge...for me anyway. No two sessions is the same. Always different conditions.

The point is that Russian people call the wolf as «Лютый» (fierce) in folk-tales. In addition this name is such expressive and significant that it is used for definition a lot of natural phenomenons and cases in the life. For example, «лютый мороз» (fierce/severe frost), «лютая буря» (fierce/violent storm), “лютая ненависть» (fierce/strong hatred) and so on. As for me so I had been named «Лютый» (Fierce) by my friends several years ago because of my love and respect to polar (chukchee) wolves. And else ... my job is in the field of the environmental protaction and ecology. That’s why I’m Лютый. I hope my English here is not so bad one.
