That way they load fast, and don't look too large on the screen. The only sharpness is on camera. I set the 40D's sharpness one point UP from default.

You will notice that most of my photos have a dark background. Such backgrounds help the sensor capture the most detail on the subject. A light background such as snow, sunlight (sunset, sunrise, snow, white, or reflective objects) sort of blinds the sensor.

You are right. It looked that his friend was riding a power boat instead of a snow machine

I thought the guy was a friend. He was doing a pretty good job on the water, regardless.

My wife's dog likes to to walk through a rose bush and then sits there, but she gets stuck because of the thorns, and "barks" for help. She always has that intense look in her eyes

I used the same 100mm lens for these two photos:

Thanks, Grannysroost.

All right, I back tracked to page 430. A picture is worth a thousand words indeed. And you guys posted a thousand of pictures! Great thread, a visual Alaskan life blog of sorts. I hope I can add some of my pictures this summer. Been hoping to make the journey to Wainwright and up *** river for years now. Or maybe fly up there and float down the river... in any case its either this year or never.
