The setup on the Majestic tripod is sort of a permanent fixture, so that's just a matter of walking into the next room with a camera!
That is the center post of a Majestic 2500 tripod, with a Majestic 1200 gearhead, which is rotated 90 degrees to point the camera straight down. There is a Slik 4-way focusing rail, with a Kirk quick release plate, and that has a Nikon D2x camera mounted. The camera has an old Vivitar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter with a Lester A. Dine 105mm f/2.8 macro lens.

This isn't my favorite configuration, and usually there is a table at the same height as the camera, rather than below it, allowing the camera can be aimed horizontally rather than vertically. It's more stable that way, but there are times where this configuration is just a lot easier to manage.

Here's an image, of a microscope objective lens, taken with that setup.
That is a centimer ruler under the objective, showing it to be just over 3 cm long The entire field is about 5 cm wide, which means on the D2x with a 23.7mm wide sensor this is at about 1:2 magnification. The interesting part is that due to the teleconverter/lens combination (210mm focal length) there was literally 17 inches of working distance from the front of the lens to the subject. That leaves a lot of room for adjusting lights to get whatever effect is desired.
