Longmere Lake halfway between Soldotna and Sterling. Caught a dozen Rainbows. Some were very dark which we released, 4 were nice and shiney, which my buddy kept for pan frying.

Yes, the temp inversion layer is usually at or just below the elevation of my house producing all sorts of wierd distortions on the mountains of the Alaska Range visible across the inlet. I can also watch the inversion moving up and down during the day due to temperature fluctuations. One of these days I'm going try to make a time lapse.

Also, Redoubt has been steaming quite a bit lately, though I understand it's from new snow accumulation on the still hot lava dome, not any new eruptive activity.

Redoubt looked awesome this morning as I drove to Kenai. But once I got there even the beach was fogged in so no pictures. She was steaming pretty good. I'm going to get up early and try to get some alpine glow on it tomorrow at sunrise.
Way nice glow on the Kenai Mountains right now. I'm out the door.
