LOL Blues I had to look it up and it was what I thought it was.

"One of Bethel’s fun annual events is the Kuskokwim Ice Classic. In early April, a “quad-pod” is built of 2x4s and erected on the frozen river about fifty feet out from shore. A cable connects the top of the structure to a small building onshore which contains a clock. When the ice breaks up and the quad-pod falls in and washes a hundred feet downriver, the cable is pulled from the clock. The clock stops and that moment is declared Bethel’s moment of break up."

Dawn...I'm pretty sure those are Dall Sheep, not goats!

Did some ice fishing in front of the cabin yesterday. No fish but still fun.

Snuck up to Anchorage this morning. The tide was way high and flat calm along Turnagain Arm.

Was much nicer this afternoon heading home.

Thumbs up Kenai float

Great pic's Rance..Looks like the ice is holding out on the lake...

How long do you think it will be until ice out?

I was thinking about draging the boat over to the outlet but not sure if it is still safe or not...

I did manage to float the upper this weekend with a few friends..

In camp with freinds.

Across the lower lake the ice is still 10 to 12 inches thick. We went down by the mouth and fished also...still plenty of ice. You can drag your boat down no problem. I figure I can ride snowmachine for at least another week across the lake.
