Those pics from Homer...beautiful... Love the boat harbor. About the weather? I see people with their sweatshirts and it's the beginning of August. Is it cold over there?

I THINK I will finally get to Alaska next year. Shooting for end of May. How cold will it be?
I went to Russia last month and it was supposed to be "cool" so took a lot of long sleeves and sweaters. I almost suffocated. Sweat off a few pounds. It was really, really hot.

Temps in the summer rarely get over 60 degrees in Homer with lows at night maybe 10 degrees difference. Being a coastal area we get more winds so if you are down by the water with the wind blowing across the water it can "feel "quite a bit cooler. Dressing in layers seems to be the norm here even in the summer. Because of that same marine climate influence, it also doesn't get nearly as cold in the winter as other areas of Alaska. I find the cooler summers wonderful for being very active outdoors. There is no heat and humidity to sap your strength. My favorite benefit though is that the cool winds sure keep the bugs to a minimum.

Nephler, lovely photos of Homer! Even Warpt has some good selective focus stuff going on. You guys could teach your fellow Alaskan a trick or two about photography.
