And the next two aren't spectacular photos or anything, but it made me a little sad. Saw an otter swimming back and forth in front of Lands End Beach one evening, and went to go closer to the water to see if I could get a decent shot....then I figured out why it was "pacing". It's mate, or buddy, whichever ( I don't know enough about sea otters obviously) was climbing onshore to die. Very obviously injured, pulled itself up onto the rocks and just laid there looking out to sea. I didn't want to get too close, seemed a bit rude, but here are the couple shots I managed.
