A special coverage of it is on Nightline tonight.
This is not funny. A cheekato in the Fairbanks area this time of year is a dangerous thing.
When will the lower 48'ers realize this state is not a damn petting zoo or winter hiking park like Yellowstone.
Damnit, 10 miles off the road system you are part of the food chain, not a "adventure seeker"

So I saw the actor who is playing the lead in this movie and Sean Penn on tv. I definitely think you guys are right that he was an idiot, but there seems to be more to it.

The reason the guy starved to death was not for lack of food. It turns out that he ate some seeds that had mold on them. This mold caused an illness that would not allow his body to absorb food.

I want to go see the movie just for all the beautiful scenery

when they get eaten by something.... some people just have no common sense. These so called adventure seekers think they can defy mother nature and are invinsible. It's the old "it'll never happen to me" syndrome. I guess it boils down to a lack of respect.

just my 2 cents...

There is alot of hype around the movie, based on the book, so they say. I do think it would be awesome for someone to tap into this "tourist opportunity" (hee hee)---people will pay money for anything. Thank god for 9 months of winter!!! One can only handle tourists behaving badly for so long.
