WE WANT TO LIVE IN THE RURAL AREA NOT IN TOWN AND ARE WONDERING WHAT ISTHE BEST HEATING. DO YOU RECOMEND BURNING WOOD, CORN OR OIL OR WHAT IN THESE AREAS. ALSO DO WIND TURBINES WORK WELL IN THIS AREA? IF WE BUY LAND WITH TIMBER WILL WE BE ALLOWED TO CUT OUR OWN LOGS TO BUILD OUR CABIN? ANY ADVISE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS THANKS THANKS

Oil or wood burning stove are your best bets for heat. The cost of heating oik is going up right now and last look was about 2.85 gal. Not many people try the wind turbine but it should work. Yes you can use your own logs to build with as there are no building codes you have to follow in Delta. Late if you want to sell and have a home that the bank will finance you will have wished to build to a minimum code at least electrically and ensure that your well is at least 100 ft from your septic. There is no city utilities in Delta to consider. Hope this answeres some of your questions, good luck and hope to see you around.

Henry

Thanks That Helps Alot. Do You Know What Land Will Cost Out Of Town ? Around 4 Or 5 Acres. What Months Can Be Traveled Into Town. We Know The Winters Get Bad But Just How Bad Does It Actually Get ? How Many Months Will We Be Shut In ? Do You Know What Kind Of Stores Are In Delta Junction Or In Big Delta ?

The road into (through) Delta is open year round. If you live just off of the road, you can drive into town immediately after DOT plows the road. Wind is heavy in Delta. Was at a construction site in Ft Greely and watched a blue honey bucket with a concrete base blow across a field. NOT exaggerating! The "breeze" in Delta picks up pebbles and blows them in really bad days.

Now, there are nicer ways to say that.
But seriously, isn't it harder to type when you capitalize every single word? We assure you, we all speak English fluently and can understand you perfectly without caps!
