Thanks, seems to me someone mentioned that Gustavus is one of the better places for gardening.
It doesn't seem to have many properties for sale. I found 3.

I remember going fishing at Game Creek and people from the farm inviting us up for lunch and showing us around. They do a pretty amazing job of surviving in the wilderness.

Figured I would update this thread, I did find, I think, what I was looking for, it is in the Copper river area. Bought 4 acres and hired a local to put in my driveway and pad. I go up next month to build a small cabin for now. The pad should be big enough for a log home, which will be next years project, when we move up. Met some of the locals and they all seem like real nice people. Not too far from the coast and only a few hrs to Anchorage! Real pretty area.
