My husband has been tossing the idea around of heading to Dutch to fish on the Bering again, he loves Alaska and Dutch is one of his favorite locations. Being that I have never been to Alaska or even Dutch for that matter would you or anyone suggest me staying on here in CO or making a trek there even though he will be obviously at sea for long periods of time. I don't know much about the area. HELP

Yes, by all means if you have never been to Alaska before I would recommend doing time in Dutch Harbor. You'll come back with a new appreciation for life.

Thank you for the idea's. I have worked with seafood before, lightly though nothing like what Unisea does I am sure. I was a megar crab shaker working by the pound, though I loved it.
I never thought about working there before in Dutch. It would be an adventure. Is there housing for employees or would I be better off finding a place, better yet is there places to rent?
