A rare situation and one I don't find unpleasant, at least not yet. Haven't heard how the water reservoirs are holding up for hydro and other utility use though.

On the news last night they said there were frost warnings for parts of SE. I thought that was unusual too. We still haven't had one in Anchorage.

It seems to be normal in the interior. We have had a couple of cold mornings below freezing. But no snow so far. Over here the birch trees were late to change color and for the leaves to drop; the latter is just happening on the third week of September.

One summer in the mid 1970's when I lived in Sitka the water level at Blue Lake got so low they shut down the hydro electric plant. Power had to be generated using city and pulp mill diesel generators.

You are right about this summer. It has rained a lot. It reminds me of some rainy summers we have had through the years, rain that turned to snow by early October. But i am still hoping for an extended Fall with some sunny days and clear nights.
I haven't been out taking photos after the moose season, but I took a few of the Auroras and some grouse that were near my campsite. I will post them at the Fairbanks forum by next week.

You are right about this summer. It has rained a lot. It reminds me of some rainy summers we have had through the years, rain that turned to snow by early October. But i am still hoping for an extended Fall with some sunny days and clear nights.
