Nice... One thing I have noticed about Alaska. No such thing as a "bad" or "boring" hiking trails.

Mind the bears! Usually at least one mauling out there every year! I've never had any trouble, but right where Hidden Creek crosses Skilak Loop Road is where I was charged by a sow brown bear with cubs. Fortunately she skidded to a halt 20' from me.

On that upper end of the loop road there are a hundred different spots to see the lights during a good show. But overall Engineer pullout and Hidden Lake boat ramp are the best.

Forecasters at the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks are predicting higher levels of aurora activity for Friday and Saturday, according to the institute’s aurora forecast site.

The forecast calls for active displays overhead for much of the Alaska, from Barrow to Juneau, while the lights could be visible lower on the horizon as far south as portions of the Alaska Peninsula, including King Salmon, as well as Outside cities such as Vancouver, British Columbia, Ottawa, Ontario, and Portland, Maine.

According to National Weather Service forecasts, however, cloud cover is forecast for much of the state through that period.
