So I would like to hear from some locals of Nome, Alaska. I will be moving up there for the months of June and July for an internship program and have no idea what to expect. I would like to prepare myself. I have been trying to figure out what type of apparel will be needed. So some questions I have are...

How are the weathers in Nome during June and July? Does it rain a lot? Will there be snow?

Will there be places to get a haircut? Barbers?

Any place to buy or even rent camping gear?

What type of cell phone providers are available out there? I have T-Mobile, will they work out in Nome?

Please let me know. I would love to hear from natives and those who have actually visited the town. I look forward to hearing from you all. Thank you!

Have you at least looked at the wiki about nome... Seems like it could be hot or it could be cold. I have never been so I can't help you out on the other things.

Record Highs are in the mid 80s, record lows are in the mid to upper 20s for those two months. That is quite the spread in temps Just GUESSING based on our warm winter and weather so far is that you won't be seeing record cold temps... But that can always change. The only consistent thing I have found about weather in Alaska, is that it is not consistent.

Precipation on average appears to be very light those two months. Snow fall average is .3 in June and none in July. Rain is about 1 inch in June and just over 2 inches in July...
