Yes I am bucking a trend here. I know there are many threads about moving TO Alaska...this is not one of them. I have living in Fairbanks for 10 years and I am ready for a change. I dont think Fairbanks is a bad place just not right for me.
So here is the question, HOW.

I was wondering if I should rent a Uhaul, but then I have a baby and how does that work. Second I was looking at Upack or Door-to-Door, does anyone have any experience with this?

Anyone who has been to Alaska knows that options are limited and everything is more difficult and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

What do you recommend?

Thanks

Do a search on Kodiak and shipping in this forum, it has a list of shippers and moving companies.
Depends on how much stuff you have and if your taking your vehicle.
Some friends of mine packed up a 40 foot van with all their sons stuff including his car and had it shipped to NC. Don't know the cost but he then flew down to a job and his stuff arrived a couple of weeks later.

I've moved with the relo cubes a couple summers ago. They each hold about a ton of weight. They are really efficient but you have to really tie everything in tightly. We sent 5-6 of them from MA to NC. The biggest problem was having ABF show up & get the dang things out of our driveway.
