And the most noteable thing to happen so far is a nasty case of the Barrow crud.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, Floyd, but almost every waking moment not spent working has been spent coughing, wheezing, sniffling and sneezing. I haven't had many waking moments, most of my time has been spent sleeping. I think I'm over the worst of it so I should be feeling adventurous shortly.

Cold up there yet? I'm here in Aniak. Been raining all summer. It's affecting the fishing. Folks are a little concerned.

My understanding is that it's been quite the rainy summer here. I've seen plenty since getting here 8/6. There's been a few really nice, sunny, warm days. Good walking days, as much as I felt like walking in the midst of being sick.

They call it the crud up there too, huh? I got the Valdez crud a few weeks ago but got over it. You'll be back on your feet in no time!

The version going around this year is some really bad stuff! Probably the worst I've seen in years. The bad part for a lot of folks has been that it wouldn't let go, and even when it seemed over with they had lingering side effects for 2-3 weeks. I just simply got knocked on my rear for 4-5 weeks and a month later I'm still not really recovered yet.

Anyway, the prediction for the rest of this week is less drizzle, but not necessarily much sunshine. That's pretty good for August. Give me a call when your up and at 'em!

well we might as well just call it "The Alaskan Crud" as I came down with it on the Kenai a week ago and still sound like a drowning barking seal !

I've had the Midwest crud for about a month now, but its not caused by a virus. My stupid allergies have been kicking my butt l with all of the ragweed pollen in the air right now.
How is it up there for allergy sufferers?

Thankfully crud free in NJ.
Blue I'm strangely fascinated by your analogy of the drowing barking seal.
