Oh boy. For those of you who live in the Bush you know how important it is to get your things and Ravn is the largest rural carrier in remote Alaska. Hopefully their competitors can pick up the slack. But those who've taken Ravn know their competitors have been picking up the slack for their mediocre service for years already

Meanwhile, outlying panhandle communities have been doing without things we need since we lost ferry service.

Hey, remember that it could be worse.

I work in supply chain management in the healthcare industry and we had a tremendous scare yesterday. Customs and Border Patrol announced that the Port of Anchorage was closed for two weeks or an unknown period of time because there had been an employee infected with COVID.

In the midst of what was probably the worst sense of doom I have ever experienced in my life and while trying desperately to get through to the port, the posted an 'oopsie! .... we didn't mean the whole port - we just meant the office!'

Apparently Ravn shut down entirely everywhere. Filed for bankruptcy.

...and the north slope borough commandeered their assets. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I mean - real life - we're in a freaking pandemic, so who could blame them? But still, I'll be tuned-in to that street fight. I mean, "that news story." lol

This was shut down, the law stated they can't do this. Northern Air Cargo made a freight run yesterday and couldn't get it unloaded due to no equipment to offload.
