I lived north of Haines for 8 years. I have recently been offered a summer job in tourism within Denali or in the southeast (Juneau-Ketchikan). Does anyone have suggestions on what to do. I am hoping to land a full time job by the end of next summer and stay. I want to move back. I am now on the east coast...boo hoo.
Just some idea's would be nice.

Juneau was rainy & cold when I was there this summer, but the scenery was beautiful & folks were friendly. I loved Ketchikan. It reminded me of coastal Maine. It has a nice downtown & cozy neighborhoods. Misty Fjords is breathtaking.

One thing to consider is the length of the season. SE AK will go to the end of September. I don't know about Denali.

Denali doesn't last too much longer as they get most of there customers off of the land portion of curise tours. Usually the 1st or 2nd week of October and most of that time is spent closing stuff up for the winter.
