I haven't shot at road signs, but old generator sets abandoned on the shores of the Yukon, and old tire rims make great targets (trying to prove the adage of a .357 going through the block).

Default shotgun blasts

The bullet holes are unsightly, but the shotgun blasts sometimes obliterate whatever the sign was trying to say. Sure, most signs you can figure out anyway, but the informational signs get mutilated by birdshot pretty easily so it bugs me more than usual.

Maybe road departments would have better luck just posting actual bullseyes in areas with a safe backstop, so as to draw more shots away from the rest of the signs.
