Hehehe....would give him a bit of a start if I showed up with the shotgun, no? Honestly, I wore my orange coat last week when I picked berries in Hatcher Pass and am glad I did. Hunters were everywhere and were not seemingly discriminatory about where they were aiming.

Default bulletproof, yeah, that's the ticket!

Bulletproof signs, yeah, that's the ticket!

Seriously though, there is a sort of plasticky-rubbery elastomer stuff that completely self-healing when you shoot it as a target. They make silhouettes out of the stuff that will knock down when hit by a bullet but can be shot hundreds or thousands of times (depending on caliber) without actually showing any damage. If you could make road signs out of the stuff, the yahoos could shoot at them all day and they'd never even show that they'd been hit.

That would pretty much eliminate the problem, if you can't even tell when you hit it, what's the point?

We just used to cover all the signs with our empty Natty-lite cases so we could find our way home....... Shootin them might have been cheaper in hindsight....
