Just received a weather alert stating ash has begun to fall in Wasilla and will continue to move this way, advisory ends at 1:00 am.

Edit:

I just escorted the wife down to the barn because of our visitor today and didn't see any ash...yet. We had our first local(since we moved in) moose visitation this afternoon/evening and she plowed through our fencing and then lay on the ground for several minutes. She was last seen at 8pm about 90 feet from the house lying down in a copse of woods by a section of our driveway.

Yep, I was just outside also with the dogs. Ran my finger along the deck railing, and a fine sandy ash was on my finger.

Think of it this way, another cool event to add to your life story.

Depends on if the volcano runs you off or you stick it out here in AK. Only a greenhorn would packup and leave because of a little volcano action!
I consider it a bonus to living here! That and earthquakes...and avalanches!

That's hilariously ironic. I just said the EXACT SAME THING to one of my friends in PA on Facebook.

Whoa - very cool shot. Almost looks like a face. Is Madam Pele visiting AK today? We have some very similar kinds of shots of Kilauea. Looks like a face looking down into the volcano....
