Believe it or not, it won't be all that long before it'll be time to think about who will be campaigning to be the next Alaskan Governor. Alaskan's should start giving this some serious thought and not wait to make a decision based on some political games when the election time "dog and pony' show begins.

Sarah Palin on Ethics

In 1996, Palin became mayor after defeating three-term incumbent mayor John Stein, on a platform targeting wasteful spending and high taxes.

Sarah Palin served as an ethics supervisor in 2004, but resigned claiming that it was due to members "lack of ethics". She was involved in accusing an Alaskan Attorney General of having "financial conflict of interest -which did result in him paying a fine. Continuing with the "ethics theme', she ran her Governor campaign in 2006 on a 'clean government" platform.

After taking office, she continued with her ethics in politics campaign and claimed to be determined to "clean up Alaskan politics". Palin even publicly challenged Senator Ted Stevens to come clean about the federal investigation into his financial dealings.

All that sounds pretty good, until you look at Sarah Palin's own ethics.
All that 'ethics training' on the job hasn't helped Sarah.

Charging Alaskans for flying her girls around Alaska for her girls to see their dad in a race. Sarah expressed relief that they did not determine she did anything wrong- but is paying back the money. Stating that she didn't know about restrictions for personal use of the government car? Many people who don't have the luxury of a company car know this! Does anyone accept her word on that as truth?
Staff members saying that she did charge for flights, living and eating at home, etc- but she saved Alaska money in other areas. With those ethics, if you do a decent job at work- it would allow you to take some things your not entitled to. Do we teach our children that? Is that ethical behavior?

It seems there are two sets of facts: Facts and Palin Facts.

Palin fact- Uses ethics as her platform and attacks others for their ethics

Fact- Palin repeatedly fails to show use of own ethics

Palin Fact- strong christian values extremely concerned about the saftey of unborn children

Fact- Flew from AK to TX in last stage of pregnancy, then flew back in labor- knowing she was having an at risk special needs baby. Most moms wouldn't do that. Even lots of moms who vote pro-choice- wouldn't dare take such a risk with a late term special needs fetus! Most moms expecting a healthy baby would show more caution in taking care of their unborn infant. (Am I wrong ?)

Palin Fact- Loved McCain and his people and thinks so highly of them

Fact- Complained about them after the election. Places some of the blame on them for how the media portrayed her. (Sarah blames them having her do certain interviews and not allowing her to do other interviews.)

Palin Fact -Claimed that she had nothing to do with clothes purchased for her. Also expressed desire to wear her own clothes and stated all the clothes were returned.

Fact- Palin wore a jacket from the campaign to GA in December after the election.

Palin Fact- Claims to put Alaska first

Fact- Palin went to GA shortly after the election to help in a campaign there instead of attend to Gov. job.
Charged Alaska for trips for her children

Palin Fact- In 2004 Palin stated she wasn't seeking to be senator. Claiming her teenage son was opposed to the idea, she stated "How could I be the team mom if I was a U.S. Senator?"

Fact- Yet a few years later with a newborn special needs baby, she not only was ready to be Governor but accepted nomination to run for VP. When reports mentioned that perhaps she was too busy being a mom to accept such a position- Palin was extremely verbal and claimed sexism.

Palin Fact- In January 2008, Palin declared that Alaska could not and must not rely so heavily on federal government funding. January 2009 stated Obama should veto stimulus package and stated she would turn down stimulus money.

Fact- Palin is asking for more than $285 million over what the state expects to receive in transportation projects from the stimulus bill

Other Palin contradictions and stories

Don't forget the questionable firing of the librarian and then rehiring after public outcry.

Palin's governor campaign included a"build-the-bridge" platform. Congress passed a $442-million bill for constructing two Alaska bridges
Palin canceled the bridge but did not return the millions in federal funds.

In 2008, as a vice-presidential candidate, Palin characterized her position as having told Congress "thanks, but no thanks, on that bridge to nowhere." This is after stating her support for the bridges earlier when campaigning.

January 2009, Palin proposes mega-expensive plan for the 500 mile road to Nome- but within weeks says she is cutting state spending budget by half a million.

Palin stated she reads all newspapers- (yes there might be reasons for not listing which ones she read but even if we give her that excuse- it's not a reason to make up such a ridiculous lie ) One doesn't just easily think up lies, unless that is something you are used to doing. When one lies, everything can become suspect. There needs to be a spotlight on anything they say or do.

Palin shows a lack of accountability when she places blame on others. She placed blame on staffers, accuses media of 'gotcha journalism” and at other times claims to be ignorant of details regarding certain charges or regulations.

Palin's actions show a lack of ethics, accountability, and truthfulness. This is especially distasteful when one runs a campaign on a conservative ethics platform.

Is Palin putting Alaska first or Sarah First- before being a mom or a governor.

Alaska can do much better. Alaska deserves better.

(If you know of someone who'd be a great candidate please share some information)

Palin does just fine, I figure that she will either run for President (which is of course, the reason of your trash post to try to make her look bad) or she will run for a second term and then go after the new one term Democrat Senator's seat, that got in by the skin of his teeth this last time.

He voted for this Pork bailout and Fake Stimulus bill and we won't forget about that.

AS far as the "Troopergate" deal, the guy was scum and should have been fired after the first time he was caught drinking in the Cruiser on duty. Tasering his 14 year old stepson (Palin's Nephew), and shoot a moose illegally when he was working for the Trooper's Fish and Game division, all of which would have gotten a "Normal" person thrown in jail... Nope, not many Alaskan's were too upset about that and why the Democrats never got any traction trying to push it.... So her firing the Commissioner who needed no excuse for her to fire him, didn't get too much support either.

But the "Left" is scared to death she may run for President instead of the VP slot and that may not bode well for Obama.... Thus, posts like yours...

If the OP is already worried about the next president...they won't live long enough to see the next president. Stress kills people...stress kills!
No I won't move it for a couple days. Not until I get the usual quota of reported posts and accusations that come shortly afterward.
