Picking and canning time for me. Everything done but a few squash and some tomatoes that for some reason seem to think frost means bloom

Analyst warns of gas shortage for Cook Inlet | State News | ADN.com

Long story short-this has been known about for 15 years. And yet no entity has actually done much to head off this slow motion train wreck. There is plenty of energy available from the slope and Cook Inlet sources but we seem to have a lack of planning and leadership.

Still summer in Louisiana (as in, you can still swim and you still sweat like a pig outside)... only 10 degrees cooler than last time I talked to you, but its a start...

Is it cooling down in Alaska, yet?

Well with the influx of people over the last 20 years just on the Peninsula, the demand for gas has increased as fast as they can produce it. There is an increase in drilling and working over old wells right now, and maybe things will balance out.

Anyway, I get a week off to spend with the Mrs for our anniversary! Then it's back to Swanson River for a hitch, and then right back to Ninilchik to finish drilling a another new gas well.

I'm stuck here in for another winter but things are finally in line here to get things tied up so i will be heading to Alaska in early spring... yeah I know you've heard it all before but this is a definite.. wish it was sooner but have to play it smart for now.

Both of you enjoy your anniversary

Never seen a negative temperature in my life--

Isn't that just barely warmer than what you need to freeze spit in mid-air?

Anyway, we are having highs in the mid 90's and lows in the mid 60's. I can't wait for February... (When it feels like a northern summer, instead of Hades...)

Happy Anniversary Rance and Sweden on the 28th! You share it with my husband and I though he will unfortunatly not be home again for it. I don't care when I get to see his smiling face, just that I get to see it again!
