I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard today that people can't throw candy to the kids at the Independence Day parade here because people could get hurt by flying candy. And possibly also because some of it winds up on the ground and has to be cleaned up. And possibly also because candy is bad for you. For serious? If I wasn't going out of town for the weekend I'd go to the parade and throw candy myself, from the crowd.

I hear fireworks! I thought there were no fireworks sales because of the high fire danger.

Anyone else?

Happy 4th, everybody.

Depending on which site I check it is currently 100, 103 or 104.7F here in the Phoenix metro east valley area, with a high of around 109 expected. Hiding out at home but may venture outside later to watch some fireworks from a nearby annual display, a lot of which can be seen from the front yard. Should be back down to around 101 by the time the show starts.
