Rather like watching and waiting for the water to boil....always seems to take longer. Had 4-5 inches of snow on the ground this morn and the sky was a bit peculiar south - ash clouds.
Bree spotted her first moose last eve. She wasn't sure what to think, just that it was something to bark at. She glued to my feet when I went out on the balcony to shoot off a photo and stayed quiet. Once back behind the safety of the door, she barked and barked. Mother and her two calves bedded down for the night.

I guess I'll follow Bree's example and go stare out the window for a while. Too bad there's no moose in the Black Hills.

No, I never did spot moose...but the whitetail, mule-deer, and elk were plentiful. Also spotted and heard a wolf or two contrary to what the government might have you believe.
