It topped out at 48 degrees with evaporating precipitation and partly cloudy skies
I will try to pace myself...is about 2:30 AKDT, is 42 here, sun is still shining and I am waiting for the avalanches of snow to fall off the roof at any time now (mini earthquake maybe). The nights here are staying warmer gradually and snow is melting some, but I think 'evaporating' more than melting where the most depth is. I do believe spring is coming this way as the birds are a 'twittering'....

It's 6:35 PM EDT here. Sun is settling for bed. How much snow have you received this winter so far?

Down here in Indiana we have seen about 3 1/2ft over the season.

I'm not sure how much total, but have had snow on the ground since mid October. We got about 18 inches in a few days in December, but it has snowed 2 to 4 inches on a pretty regular basis with the last just the end of last week. We melt a little, then more snow and am sure we will have more. Our sun is getting longer for sure...is up before 6 am, and after 10 last night there was still enough light to see outside without a light. Another sign of spring is the squirrels are out racing around again...making my dogs crazy...

In the middle of Janruary we had a blizzard and received about 16 inches of snow in less than 12hrs. We didnt really start melting down here till about 3-4wks ago. The mercury stayed below 32 degrees for almost 4 months and was below zero for around two weeks.I think at the low we hit around -17. I know that is probably nothing to you guys up there!(The cold weather doesnt bother me one bit I love cold weather![I know I am a freak])

Squirrels and dogs are going crazy here to.

What an interesting day of flying.

My instructor and I were out doing some slow flight, and upon recovery the flaps would come up. So we putted right along back to Anchorage with full flaps at 60 knots. Atleast it was a nice day, but really hazy.

I also smell like JetA after walking across the ramp while a King Air was doing an engine run up.

For our area, the official measurement was 179 inches at the end of March. We've had a couple of light dustings in April. The snow pile by the driveway was about 15 feet high, now down to around 10 feet, and the pile was larger than previous years. Our problem was it didn't melt much between storms.
