No, it rained most of the night, the roads are a sheet of ice. The wind is gusting 45mph and they don't want the buses running off the roads.

Wow Warpt, they were calling for 10-20" out your way and you got rain. They are calling for 3-6" here in the Mat-Su and 8-16" in the Su...

Oh, this is Crossfire disguised as akvarmit again... She has obviously been using my laptop..

Hey Crossvarmit, it's supposed to turn into snow this afternoon. I didn't skate to work, Nokian studs kept me glued to the ice! Going home will be a lot better this afternoon, tail wind!

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect until 9 PM akst
this evening.
A strong storm system in western Alaska will spread abundant
moisture across southcentral Alaska during the day. Light snow has
already developed this morning across the Matanuska Valley. Snow
will be steady and heavy at times along the Talkeetna Mountains
including Hatcher Pass. The valley will see much less snow during
the day...until an upper level disturbance moves through later
this afternoon. Snow intensity will increase briefly before
tapering off in the evening.
Total snow accumulation will range from 2 to 5 inches in the
valley to 6 to 12 inches at higher elevations...mainly the
foothills of the Talkeetna Mountains.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving

Wow, it sounds like Alaska forecasts are as bad as Michigan forecasts . . . . almost always wrong. If I had a dime for every time forecasters here forecasted big snow and we got rain, I'd be able to buy my own jet.

Wartp I'm telling you that sail/hoodie bike thing could be just the ticket. You would fly home with a tail wind. (or well fly but let's not think about that part).

congrats Lyoness on the milestone.
