I only have 10 more days to go in my hitch! 26 day hitch is a killer. My brain is fried. I finally got to sleep all night without being woke up by some roughneck, telling me something else has broke down.
I hope there is some snow when I get home so's I can head out to the cabin and unwind for a few days.
I miss the wife and I miss a good cold cheap beer. In that order.

That's the problem Rance. Good beer should be at almost 50 F for optimal taste... cheap beer has got to be real cold to taste best. I miss "Zywe" (alive) beer from Amber brewery in Poland. My fav... unpasteurised, all natural. I might go to Poland relatively soon, this time around I'll bring back max. legal quantity of it for the kicks of it! I might send a couple of bottles up North!
Its only at its best for two weeks or so, being not pasteurised.

Anywho... just came back from Dominican Republic!
I love the island! How cool is it to have bananas, mangos and coconuts growing right around every house! And guess what, nice mountains, no bears, no wolfes, no ticks. Wow!
Just kidding!!!!
Blue seas in all shades of it... I was lucky to come when they had a cold spell- it was sunny and high eighties! I tavelled all around the island- west, north. I visited Casa del Campo, World's best Carribean community for the last 10 years. Wow, money do buy paradise-like surroundings.
I looked at my pictures on the 52" Sony Bravia LCD yesterday and I love them. Best ever. In fact I think I'll have a hundred+ printed in 24x30" size and see if I can arrange a "Treasures of the Carribean" exhibition in the Museum of the Earth in Warsaw, Poland. Yes, I did not go to swim in the sea or stay at a resort. In four days we drove about 1000KM. I have seen so much Dominican amber and larimar (blue colored stone unique to DR- one hill only at that) that I cant wait to get back there next year!

No stay at home vacations! Life is too short for that! Now that I'm on a roll, I hope to be able to pull a visit to Lebanon next month. Some cool scientific stuff is going on there and I hope to make it there for the field trips!
Don't have my pictures at home right now and on Imageshack I only have some downsized way down. In any case, how do you like the blue amber of Hispaniola?
