Man. 17 below here this morning. What a pain in the rear. We had a large diesel powered compressor catch fire this morning. That was cool. But the entire neighborhood stinks like burnt rubber.

So how does one determine how old a whale is? I was reading the thread of whaling & I think it was Floyd who said that the Bowhead whale can live to be 215 years old. How do scientists or whalers determine the ages of the whales that are caught or observed?

The Answer is very simple - The Scientists and whalers have to go ask Floyd.

April 2007. The scientists had determined then; via the 1885 harpoon head found in the animal. dated that whale to about 150 years old, The life of a whale has almost doubled since floyd read that article.
