Ah, OK.

I've been thinking it would be enjoyable for me to get some sort of OTR trucking job for a couple of years or so after I graduate. I love driving vehicles of any kind, especially large ones, so it would be fun, and I would get to see a lot of beautiful country. I spent a summer driving big box trucks all over the South for my friend's dad's company (he sells box trucks and 18-wheelers), and I really loved it. The only thing with those box trucks is you have to get used to sitting on top of the engine and having a weird view of the road, but it was so much fun. I think truck driving in Alaska would be a great way to earn money and see all different parts of the state, that is if those jobs are available.

It was yum. I had just gotten a shipment of bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner, body butter, soap, and spray on hair detangler in a scent called "creamy chocolate cupcake"...and it smells just like that. Didn't have wine but instead had Frangelico and coffee. Gotta love my grandmother for leaving me her huge sunken tub.

I'm beginning to think you're about 14 years old. Anyone that's looked at a map of the State of Alaska will notice a major lack of roads. First you're going to work for the Forest Service and now you're gonna drive a truck around all the different parts of Alaska.

Hahaha, you're starting to amuse me at this point. You are a CLASSIC internet troll. There aren't that many roads in Alaska, but the roads that are there are long, and there are certainly trucks driving on them. Forest Service or something similar is my field, because my degree will be in Forest Resources. That is what I plan to do for a living, yes, but I was just remarking that I think driving a truck around Alaska would be a cool job. The roads that ARE there go through some beautiful areas, and it would be a cool job for me because I enjoy driving large trucks.

Believe me, I look at maps of Alaska more often than a lot of residents probably do, and I am completely aware of the road system there. I didn't mean that I could literally see ALL the different parts of AK by driving a truck, but I could see a pretty good bit, and other people have confirmed this.

And you can keep baiting me, but I'm not going to get into arguments with you. It's just childish. But hey, whatever helps you sleep at night...

Well, just because the maps show a lot of roads doesn't mean that trucks go to all of the places (some of the roads are just gravel roads that trucks can't go down). I think most truckers who carry the stuff from the barges that docks in Anchorage go up to FBs and some on to the slope, and down the Kenai so you'd definitely see the more beautiful parts of the state, but I don't think there are that many truck routes.

This road condition map shows the truck routes:

Alaska 511 - Transportation & Public Facilities, State of Alaska.

I spend entirely too much time browsing in the Alaska forums...starting to feel a bit like a creepy "lurker"- So I figured I'd drop a little hello...

Hello

I'm going to actually see some of this wonderful state you guys inhabit in June/July this year. Maybe I'll have some pictures or an interesting story to tell then. Until that time, you guys crack me up at least once a day, or provide surpreme eye candy in the pictures thread. So Thanks
