I'm going to randomly jump in here. The Delta is the most awesome place in the world, period (I admit I haven't read most of this thread and am sure this will be a useless addition to it).

I lived near Bethel for a year, before moving up to the slope in August and immediately regretting it. Well, no offense slope lovers, but I'm outta here! Last weekend I was down in the YK area to visit and picked up a teaching contract in St. Mary's. This August, I'll be back in paradise, hopefully to stay

If you don't mind my asking, puff, what is it that you love about the YK area? I have seen some jobs posted in the area that I will be qualified for, and although it would be a gigantic change from everything I know, I'm mulling it over because I can't think of a better place to get a really rich Alaska experience. How much difference is there between the hillier area up around St. Mary's and Russian Mission or the super-flat Kuskokwim area? Also, if I may ask, are you Native?

^ Ah yes. I have that page bookmarked. It's just full of great stuff. Some of the winter photos don't have much snow though, I've noticed.

Default Yk

There is a position open for a NP at St. Mary's. What would d be the advantage for me (a single 45 y/0 fm) living there vs Bethel btw are there places in Bethel to get my nails done?
