Back in the 60's my Dad drove semi cross country. He hauled hot dogs. To this day he still won't eat one. He said he used to stop in at factories to load up in the morning when they were firing up grinders and other equipment...and you could hear the rats screaming for 20 minutes as they were sucked into or spit out of grinders and conveyors etc. Back in the day they just ground them up.

This reminds me of another favorite of mine, good ole scrapple.
Truly lips and a******s, and not trying to hide it, either.
Have a look: Scrapple: Pork Mush...The Pennsylvania Treat
Yummo.

I love BBq'ed hot dogs and love fried bologna while i dont get excited about boiled or uncooked of either. Something about the grilling out some of the fat makes em better. When a youngster i used to skip lunch at school and rush home to make a fried bologna and egg sandwich with a glass of ovaltine for lunch.

I still drink Ovaltine! Keep a jar on top of the fridge at all times. Really good on icecream too.
