If that holds true then you probably shouldn't vote regardless of who is up for election.

Yes, it has to be done by law. Yes, the judge allwoed the political campaign funds to be used to pay for reading 500 000 pages of documents and such. If, by some tweak of law he's deemed innocent, will this change my voting choice?
NO. And for Palin- Once tainted by so much controversy, by so many allegations of wrongdoing, by news of... own household being in contradiction to her own political preaching, you expect party line voting to stand behind her? Donno...
Again, alot of that so called "controversy" that you guys read about down south is total BS. My dislike for Palin has come from daily observation of her Governace which at times has been utterly nonsensical, and my opinion of the poor economic and policy decisions she and her administration have implemented. However, as Ray pointed out before, there are also many positives she has done for our state and several things many Alaskans, myself included, support her on. And compared to some of our previous Governors she is still a welcome relief.

Your comparison to the Blago affair is probably a perfect anology. You know, from living there, that there are many real, legal resons why Blago got into the trouble he is in. And as a resident you undoubtedly know more details than I could ever hope to get from the shoddy media up here. Given that, these types of discussion threads and polls would be like me coming into the Illinois forum and spouting off that I know everything there is to know about Blago and that the reason he should have been kicked out because he's got big hair and wears a silly speedo jogging suit! Those things are utterly irrelevant points of criticism.

Regarding these Ethics complaints against the Governor, does anyone know what has been the outcome - the decisions, of these complaints?
Every ethics complaint since the 2008 election against Governor Palin has been dismissed as frivolous and without merit. The only ethic complaint that was actually investigated, completely exonerating Gov. Palin of any wrong-doing, was Troopergate, which started before she was picked as McCain's VP.

Quote:
“Not one of the complaints actually reached the personnel board for its formal adjudication,” noted Bill McAllister, the governor’s communications director. “Rather the complaints have fallen short based on just a simple review of the facts and the law.”

As I mentioned before, the ethics complains are mostly political in nature. It's a way her opposition (Democrats) have mastered and use to keep her down as long as possible. With time, all the older ethics complains will be dismissed, since they are pretty much laughable and without merit. But her opposition will continue such lawsuits and complains until 20010, or until she can have her side bring countersuits (something that's very expensive).

That's an overstatement.
Troopergate report: Palin abused power: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com
The legistlative investigation found
Quote:
Palin abused her power in pushing for the firing of an Alaska state trooper who was once married to her sister, or by failing to prevent her husband Todd from doing so.
Quote:
In the second finding, Branchflower says Monegan's refusal to fire Wooten was not the sole reason for his dismissal but that it was a "contributing factor." Still, he said, Palin's firing of Monegan was "a proper and lawful exercise" of the governor's authority.

I believe Glitch was referring to the Personnel Board. The one you're referring to was a legislative committee that started out neutral, but became partisan once she was selected as a VP candidate. Her administration initially cooperated, but pulled out once when it became politically focused.

What it came down to is a he said, she said argument and no violation was found by the Personnel Board. The legislative investigation heard only one side and was predisposed to find something to hurt her VP candidacy.

I have to add, the members on the Personnel Board were all appointed by Palin. The Legislative Committe was comprised of elected by the citizens of Alaska members.

The partisan hack Branchflower's agenda was obvious from the beginning, which is why nobody took the fool seriously. The only official investigation was the Personnel Board's investigation which COMPLETELY EXONERATED Governor Palin of any wrong doing.

Monegan was also never "dismissed", he resigned. That is what you get from reading the Anchorage Daily Socialist Worker. Monegan was offered a Director's position, which was a demotion from Commissioner, and he refused to take the position.

I realize that reality is a difficult concept for you, but you will just have to find a way to deal with it.

You're mistaken. While they are appointed by the Governor, Palin only appointed one of them:

PERSONNEL BOARD (077)
