I have read good reviews about both but none comparing them. Anyone tried both tours? Which one would you recommend? Both are the 6-hour tours, price not an issue, and I do not care about the food.

Edit: Apparently there is a third tour provider - major marine. I did not read good reviews about it.

Thanks

I have only been on the Kenai Fjords Tours (three times!), and have been very satisfied...it was worth every penny! My last tour last year was out to Ailiak Bay on a day trip (some 20+ miles from Seward), and we got to see the glacier calving there, and innumerable marine wildlife.

I am of the older persuasion (60-plus), and like to be in boats that are big enough to be comfortable...and these were. You could stay inside where it was warm, or go outside on the deck if you wanted. The boats were clean and well maintained, and the staff was great...no complaints from me! Just my $.02

I think I will go with Kenai Fjords Tours since it is more popular. Helpful as usual, thanks Bud.

I also have only done the Kenai Fjords Tour, t'was great, staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, nice warm accomodations and the boat was big enough to walk around on. Also more whales, orca, otters, bears, wolves, puffins, arctic terns, stellar sea lions and one wolverine to keep anyone occupied, at least for us, they put on a really good show, and the glaciers were cooperative, will do it again next time we come up.

I preferred the 26 Glacier Cruise because they are the only cruise that uses a catamaran hull design. As a result, you get a more stable cruise then you get from any single-hulled vessel, and it is much faster. Which means that you will get to the glaciers faster, closer, and stay longer than the other cruise ships.
