Very cool! Thanks for the heads up, I would have missed it. Ken Burns is some kind of artistic genius. I just set my TiVo for a season pass!

I wonder if they will mention Denali NP?

No series on America's national parks could miss Denali. The blurb below does not mention it explicity, but I figure it is in there -

Filmed over the course of more than six years at some of nature's most spectacular locales – from Acadia to Yosemite, Yellowstone to the Grand Canyon, the Everglades of Florida to the Gates of the Arctic in Alaska

My problem right now is that Dish TV has suddenly stopped broadcasting the PBS channel in HD in Silicon Valley. What a bummer. I may have to get the Blu-ray version later.

Huh? That's downright un-American!

Well, I gues I should feel lucky, even though I still don't get the NASA channel. But I can get 50 different ESPN/Football channels. WOOHOOO. No wonder the national IQ is in free fall.

Just to be sure - we do get the PBS channel in Standard Definition. But with such spectacular scenery on offer in the upcoming series, the only way to truly enjoy it is in HD quality.

The small video clip in there recounts how the effort by President Carter to get Kenai designated a national park was initially resisted and then embraced by Seward residents.
