Old Shishmaref Cookbook (buy, school, title)

Among the belongings of my mother I came across a cookbook from 1952 titled "Eskimo Cook Book--Prepared by Students of Shishmaref Day School, Shishmaref, Alaska", and published by the "Alaska Crippled Childrens Association". It's a booklet of about 36 pages with recipes contributed by local families. This must have some historical value, and our family would like to see that it falls into the right hands. Who would we contact?

You might try Tony Weyiouanna or Luci Eningowuk. They have strong community interest and know everybody.

Did you ever get more information about your cookbook? I work for Alaska Crippled Children, now Alaska Center for Children and Adults. We have a copy as well and I have some history...

You might try the native Corporation of that area, don't know who that is without doing some searching, but they may want to take it and republish it since that is from their area. May be a number one seller for the tourist.... and the rest of us...

OK, so thre seems to be some copies floating around.
Still, yours might be unique. Issue number or how it was done.
Any way to donate the hard copy to proper folks, but to also post the recepies here?
It would be so cool to try and adapt them to everyday cooking for everyone!!!!!

If you google it, one comes up for $10 and many other refferences. So it is not very rare- this one copy might be rare, depending on its history, where it came from, who it belonged to.
