Central Anchorage has lots of big snowflakes coming down right now. Starting to stick on wet roads hope we don't get a temp drop or ditch diving will be an afternoon sport.

The sun just came out and now we have a few small flakes. Did I hear Moose say "If you don't like it wait ten minutes......."

No Robins up in this area yet.

This one is for you Warpt.

Warning Description: Blizzard Watch

Warning Date: 4:03 PM AKDT on April 8, 2010

WarningSum:...Blizzard Watch In Effect From Friday Evening Through Saturday
Morning For Along The Coast...

Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a blizzard
watch...which is in effect from Friday evening through Saturday
morning.
A strong area of low pressure will move into the western Bering
overnight. An associated front will advance east through the
Aleutian chain and approach SW Alaska on Friday night. Snow will
develop across the Kuskokwim Delta...and coupled with increasing
southeast winds of 35 to 50 mph...will bring the potential for
blizzard conditions. Visibility in falling and blowing snow will
possibly reduce visibility to one quarter mile or less along the
coast where winds will be strongest. The front will move ashore early on
Saturday...with some warmer air possibly mixing snow with rain.
Winds will also diminish...helping to end the blizzard threat.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or
blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities.
This can lead to white-out conditions and make travel very
dangerous.

I saw a moth today, in the snow. Had to chase this little guy down for a while before he would settle.
