I live in the UK, my uncle has been driving the yellowknife ice roads for a while now and his UK license didn't cover him to drive there. Will my UK lorry license cover me to be able to drive the haul road? Thanks

I assume you are talking about a Commericial Driver's License (CDL). For visitors driving personal or rental cars, Alaska honors a valid foreign driver's license with an international driving permit for 90 days. But CDL requirements are more complex. For example, some states honor a foreign CDL from Canada or Mexico, but the laws vary from state to state, so my best advice would be to call the Alaska DMV directly and ask.

DMV Welcome

I had a girlfriend named Lorry.

Wait a minute, she spelled it "Lori."

And she didn't look ANYTHING like a truck.

Yep I know...just joking with you.

BTW, I've been counting the wheels on some of these big tandem rigs. Seems like the last one I saw had 32 or so. Mighty big to be zooming down our roads. I assume they are only licensed for certain highways.

Oh...and you have snowmobiles, we have snowmachines. I suppose you don't have either.

now thats what i call homely and its all behind the seat of this lorry

thats what our look like here

most lorries here have a 3 axle trailer unlike yours are mostly only 2, then most lorries have the 2 pairs of drive wheels and obviously the front steering wheels just like yours over there.

ye we don't have snowmobiles but we do have the alternative in the form of quad bikes (atv) great fun.
