Of course the folks at Sam&Lee's are very close friends of mine, and their loss is a very very personal thing. But it also happens that the other fire you mentioned also happens to be very very close personal friends too.
I'm just unable to reconcile how you can care so little about other people, especially when they are all your neighbors. If you had experienced a fire yourself here in Barrow in years past it just happens that two of the major sources of assistance that would have been immediately made available to you... would have come directly from the two families whose misfortunes you are laughing at.

Absolutely, Floyd, and that's true of rural Alaska in general. Let's hope it stays that way despite the attitudes that some try to bring.
I am by design a keeper of all things. I try to manage it and dispose of multiple things. Even thou I have a Home Depot or Menards within reach. And my habit pays off every now and than.
Sure enough a full backyard of stuff shocks visitors from highly regulated cities and suburbs in "lower 48". But it should be taken with understanding of its purpose- even if the person never had such need.

I thought Stiffnecks joke towards you was very funny, and that was a nice move you just made to make it look like I was laughing at those who had the tragic fires. Not accurate, but a nice use of smoke and mirrors none the less.
