Most salmon I eat here on the east coast is farmed raised. By far the best salmon I've ever eaten is wild Alaskan salmon.

I will NEVER buy farm raised fish. It tastes like crap, and I don't believe in the genetic engineering.

You got a point there. The fish tastes flat or less of a taste for sure.
I would say it would hurt those who raise salmon but just like any business loss is another business gained. In the this case fishing should be controlled to allow for fish to restock.

target is a big chain with a lot of stores. keeping those stores supplied with wild alaska salmon could severely cut in to the wild salmon population in alaska. more salmon for target shoppers means less for alaskans.

This is a plus for people in the AYK (Arctic Yukon Kuskokwim) area that have a fishing permit.

Are you sure? Wouldn't the Alaskan government control salmon fishing like they do other kinds of fishing and hunting? Aren't they diligent about this?
