The movers just left, all that's coming with me to Barrow is gone, Friday I get on the plane, and Monday is my first day of work. Hopefully I hear about my AK nursing license soon.

Sounds like you will be here Friday night or Saturday morning! Would you like to have lunch on Sunday and get a tour of the town? The only problem is that my truck is out of commission and we'd have to ride around on a 4-wheeler. Thats fun too, but you need a coat etc.
It has been a very rainy summer, but is not raining now. This week is supposed to be very warm, but by the weekend it should be back down to about 45 degrees. Today we are having a lot of wind (36 mph now, and getting worse), but the norm is about 10-12 mph.

I'm supposed to arrive there around 7:20 Barrow time, Friday evening.My body will be telling me it's 11:00 something so I imagine I'll be mostly incoherent Friday evening and half of Saturday. 16 hours is a long time to fly.
Wynter - did you apply for the temp. permit too or just the regular license? I cant remember how long it took mine to come, but I got the temp. one also and it did come sooner.
I didn't and now I'm kicking myself for that. I double and triple checked the required documents and felt confident that I had everything in order but I'm at over two weeks now and they said it usually takes 10 days.
Call the Board. Nancy Sanders in the Director. She can get this moving along....
I'm scared of pissing people off before I even get there. But I start work Monday and still have no word from the Board.
