Hi Everyone,
My cousin and his wife are preparing to move to Albany from the West Coast and have asked questions that I don't know the answers to, I'm hoping you can help! Here's the first one:

Which cell phone service provider do you use? Do you get good coverage? Lose service in the capital region at all?

I use a trac phone and don't get great service so I couldn't help answer it. I won't have service in certain areas, like in my house!

Hope you can help, Thanks!

Even though I don't live in the Albany area, I have traveled through the Capital region and vacationed around Lake George/Saratoga areas many times. I have Verizon and it has always been reliable. Never a dropped call.

I just cancelled my Tracfone service, after giving them at least 10 chances to fix a series of technical problems and just plain lousy company policies designed to force you to pay more money, even if you never actually use the phone. It was the worst example of "penny wise and pound foolish" I've ever fallen for. I'll have to go with one of the expensive "contract" plans, but at least I'll have a cell phone that works when I need it.

I use Straight Talk, from Walmart simply because of the price of the plan. They use Verizon towers and we've had very good luck with Verizon. I know many who carry the Straight Talk plan and all have zero issues with it here.

I have had AT&T and did deal with more dropped calls.

Don't go anywhere near T-Mobile. My phone goes into SOS all the time and forget signal if you move ten feet off an interstate or walk into a store. The worst!
