Although I understand there are good hospitals, I have yet to find a primary care doctor. Many do not take new patients and the ones that do you either have to wait two months for an appointment (and they call you and cancel a week before) or those doctors are not what you are looking for in a doctor.

I have found a good orthopedic surgeon/doctor in Northeast Orthopedics in Albany, an eye doctor in Schuylerville, an oral surgeon in Saratoga, an urologist in Saratoga, but have yet to find a primary doctor.

I would respectfully disagree with your statement re: primary Doctor, most people in my street moved in at the same time ( new Constuction) a couple of Years ago, we have not had any troubles in that area at all.

You might have misunderstood me, we have gone to two or three doctors, but they weren't very thorough nor did they listen to what conditions we stated or what problems we were having. Spouse has had cancer and several conditions which require lab tests on a quarterly basis. So possibly we have too high expectations. Wilton Medical has been very good for cases requiring immediate attention. The people are pleasant, medically very competent so we use them rather than a primary.

In speaking to several medical professionals they basically told us that the care we get in NJ is not available in this area. In fact they were amazed when we told them all our doctors are networked via computer, lab, xray, CT scans, imaging, etc. are all done within a campus type area. An appointment can be obtained the same day if necessary and a doctor from the group is always in the hospital. In an emergency, of course, we will go to the hospital in the area, but at this point, a 3 hour drive to NJ once every quarter is feasible. We drive down, have lab tests, see the doctor or our dentist, which takes all of an hour. Have lunch, shop at COSTCO and head home. We have sat in doctor's offices up here for at least an hour.
