Hello All~

Please recommend a couple of restaurants for me in the general area of Saratoga Springs or Schenectady. Albany would be a bit too far away.

My parents, who live in western Saratoga County, will not be able to take their annual trip to Maine this summer, and Mom is heartbroken because she won't get her usual steamed whole lobster fix.

I don't live in this area, so I would love your help in finding a place to take them for a wear-the-bib and eat a whole lobster experience. Price is not much of an issue; a casual place is much preferred over a jacket and tie place. It doesn't need to be a "lobster house", but a kitchen that can do it right is a must!

Thank you so much for your suggestions.

Lana

I love seafood, but my husband doesn't so I haven't gone to many of the seafood restaurants around here. Try calling Jack's Oyster House. Unfortunately the online dinner menu link wasn't working. I've heard this is one of the best places for seafood in the area.
Jack's Oyster House 518.465.8854 It's in Albany.
I've also heard this place is good, the Reel Seafood Co. Reel Seafood Co. - Welcome! They have lobster.
If I come across others, I'll let you know.

I have driven by a place that advertises lobster dinners that's on US 9 between Latham and Clifton Park. I've not tried it, so can't vouch for it. Of course, Red Lobster is a chain that server the crustacean. Both are casual

I'd never go to Jack's Oyster House again. They are VERY expensive. I'm not even sure oysters (or lobster) are on the menu!
