I'm ready to move for a lower cost of living. Any advice for a black woman in her mid-forties who plans to rent. I'd be paying as little rent as possible while still remaining in a safe area. I work as a substitute teacher and home health aide. Oh, and I don't drive.

Perhaps Watervliet, Rensselaer, Pine Hills and Helderberg neighborhoods in Albany, Lansingburgh in Troy and the Union Street area of Schenectady.
