Hey all!!

I'm trying to find a place that you can go to to make wine around the Albany area. Basically, you go to the place and do all the steps to make the wine, go back every so often to bottle, etc. Does anyone know of any places around the area? (hopefully not more than an hours drive). I'm looking into getting it as an Xmas gift for someone. Thanks!

Considering custom crush just became legal in New York State a few months ago, I don't think anyone is up and running in Albany yet. There is one in Dutchess County, but it's in the Wappingers Falls area, which is a solid two hours from Albany.

Ahhh poop!! I didn't realize that it wasn't legal until recently! Thanks for the info!

I was looking at getting this person a home making wine kit, but I think it may be a bit overwhelming for someone that's never done it before. I'm big on getting Xmas presents for people that are things to do, rather than physical things. If there are any wine tours/events/classes I can buy or anything like that, let me know. Thanks!!

Santa Stefani or something along those lines. Sorry I can't remember exactly, it's definitely got an Italian sounding name. I'm sure if you google a bit you'll find it.

You could put together a winery tour of the Dutchess Valley that includes gift certificates for tasting fees, hotel and dinner, we easily visited three in one day a couple of months ago and were back in NJ before dinner time.

Thanks, I found it. Unfortunately, it's only geared towards large groups - cheapest package is over $1000! I'll see what else I can come up with - thanks for all the advice/info!
