Yes, as it has good schools and shopping close by.

You might want to start your own thread, Latham is about fifty miles south of Glens Falls.

It will feel very small in comparison to Atlanta. Latham is in the North Colonie School District and is ranked as one of the best. It's about 10-15 minutes from Albany International Airport and shopping malls Colonie Center and Crossgates. The winters are very long here and the weather is very tempermental...some winters we get hammered with snow storm after snow storm and other winters we have had barely any snow at all. The summers are short but humid. January temps can go below zero. The spring and fall are beautiful here though. Latham is about 45 minutes south of the Adirondacks, which is a wonderland if you are interested in hiking, lakes, and/or skiing. The Berkshires (Massachusetts) and Catskill (Hudson Valley between Albany and NYC) mountains are also under an hour away as are the Green Mountains in Vermont. You can be in Boston or NYC in 3 hours and in Montreal in 4 hours. These are just some random facts....if you start a Latham thread, you can probably find out more about property values, taxes, etc..Good luck and welcome!
